HSF supports Yorkshire Air Ambulance's fundraising for a rapid response vehicle
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing life-saving rapid response emergency services to 5 million people across the whole of Yorkshire. The swift medical interventions provided by their air ambulance crews have a major impact on a patient's chance of survival and subsequent quality of life.
The YAA currently operates 2 helicopters and to keep them both maintained and in the air they need to raise £12,000 every single day, which is the equivalent of £4.4m a year.
For the last two years Night Vision Operations have also been running which has enabled the charity to extend its operational hours from earlier in the mornings in to the evenings & carrying Blood on Board has enabled critically injured patients to receive transfusions at the scene of accidents or in the air. The Henry Surtees Foundation is therefore delighted to announce their donation of £15,000 towards a vehicle for the YAA Rapid Response Team.
